93 accord hard startingoutintheshop 09-11-2005, 02:44 PM I have a 93 honda accord. sometimes it wont start. After enough messing it will start but runs crappy for awhile. Check engine light comes on and after checking codes it says it is the coolant temp. The car is cold when this happens... Any Ideas?????? mpumas 09-11-2005, 07:44 PM If you get a ECL code #6, it means the temperature sensor is sending a out of scale resistance to the ECU. Resistance can vary from 20K ohms at -20 C down to 100 ohms at 120 C. At normal operating temperature, the sensor should read 200-400 ohms. The sensor is located on the engine on front left side near the engine water outlet hose. It has a grn/wht and yel/grn wire attached to the sensor. If the resistance is OK, check for loose wire connection. Reset ECU. Check for loose wire connection at sensor and at connector C311 located at the left shock tower. Get back to us with your results. outintheshop 09-11-2005, 08:31 PM If you get a ECL code #6, it means the temperature sensor is sending a out of scale resistance to the ECU. Resistance on temp sender is 270 ohms at normal operating temp. all connections are good with continuity between all connectors. Car also surges in park after driving ( between 2100 rpms on high side down to 1100rpms on low side) throttle position sensor good so is idle air control. Map sensor also appears to be good. I've put many many many hours into problem solving this one and it's really starting to piss me off. Thanks for the speedy reply last time. appreciate it vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
