had a 93 lumina 3.1 for many years and 220,000 miles..... car still ran but body so beat up that I passed it on. replaced it with a 97 lumina 3.1 and very happy...except,

93 3.1 was very peppy..... step halfway down on the gas and the car moved out smartly. felt like a light car. now with the 97 3.1, car feels much heavier and accelerates with less pep. I have to really get my boot in it before the car gets up and runs....

any ideas? thanks much

ha, my 2001 (although I dont have anything to compare it to) seems like its got some pep. Your 97 is a little bigger car keep in mind. Whats the plenum say on top of the motor? 3.1mpi or 3100sfi? Mines got a 3100sfi which is basically the same 3.1 with aluminum heads and a better mapped intake. If its the 3100sfi, then maybe look into doing a tuneup. Fuel filter, plugs, wires, air filter, and clean the throttle plate. It will liven it up somewhat. dont know what else to tell ya. Good luck
