Has anyone added one of those air intake systems to your Tercel? If so, did it improve the performance at all? Check engine light come on at all? Easy to install?

Also, is there any muffler made for a 4-cylinder car that will give it a nice, deep sound and not sound like a moped that's open on full throttle that so many Civics sound like?

IMHO it seems like all hondas sound the same ... and that's like shit.... idk i'm not into loud pipes and shit like that... it just seems your car goes downhill faster the more and more shit you add to it...

I have a cold air intake on my 95 tercel. And a stock muffler, it sucks so much air in the muffler sounds like the guts are going to come out. It did not make any light come on. the only sincer on it is the air intake sencer and it has a plug in on the intake. So if you get a cold air intake i strongly sugest you get a aftermarke muffler. Any "ricer" muffler will sound deep and good if you have a cold air intake. And my intake added hella horsepower!!!

My Tercel is also a 95. What kind (brand name) of intake do you have? Where'd you get it? Pep Boys, Advance Auto, etc? And if you don't mind me asking, how much did it cost?

I got mine off ebay, it is a no brand cheep one but they all work the same so there is no reason to spend more just because of the name. You can get it shiped and every thing for under $50, actuly it probly cost like $30.

Stupid question time from a non-mechanically inclined person: Is there any risk of damage to the eingine further down the road from having so much air constantly being sucked in?

CAI do not "add" horsepower, they simply restore it by relieving some of the congestion that is entailed with a stock airbox. and no, it did not add "HELLA" horsepower. i'd say 1, maybe 2hp, if at ALL. its all in your head. that motor has very little power to begin with, and not performance-oriented in the least. and yes, most fart cans sound like shit. big(ger) 4-cylinders and strait pipes is the combination that sounds good, and actually does something to the car that you can feel.

It will not hurt it but sucking in more air, that is what for more hp, the more air and fuel , the faster.

I also dynoed my car, 5hp gain. So don't know about yours.

Nope, can't say that I do. Again, mechanically challenged here.

Oh a dyno is when you have your car tested on a computer. You pull it up in one of thoes garages and you pull it up till the tires get on thoes little spindel things, and they strap your car down and the little spindal things are hooked to a computer and it tells how much hp you have and torqe, and crap like that.

if you put a aftermarket cold air intake make sure you have a maf sensor you your computer might run a little rough and have horrible emissions. just a suggestion.

there is a hole for the intake sencer and it plug right in, runs fine, no light on, so it all good.
