Transmission Fluid Level

Hi I just recently changed the transmission fluid in my automatic F22B1 Transmission. It says the capacity is 3.1 qts. I added just about that 3.1 when I check the fluid level after driving when it is warm it is just a hair above the upper line. I was wondering for you people who know about transmissions, do you think this is okay? I looked through the dipstick hole and the fluid looks normal no foaming that I can see. Also I noticed when I checked the transmission fluid after my car sat for a day the level was up high on the dipstick. Im guessing this is because it has had a long enough time to drain back into the pan. Is this normal? Before seeing that I was thinking the fluid level would shrink down since the fluid shrinks when it's cold. Thanks

Well I don't know about the 2nd part. Generally it should have gone down after being left sitting and cold.
The reason it is a bit higher when you added 3.1L is because chances are there was some left in the tranny that didn't drain out all the way...it happens.
The important thing is the level that appears when the tranny/car is warm. If it is just a hair above the upper line when warm, then you are ok. If it is significantly higher...you should drain some.

Thanks for the reply. Yeah i am thinking it is ok. Hopefully it will be fine. Ive been checking the fluid level a lot lately and it seems to b ok. It shifts nice and smooth once its warmed up. I also heard that transmissions have vents just incase they get overfilled.
