replacing stock antennaJen805 09-05-2005, 02:44 PM i just put in a pioneer deck... i want to replace my stock antenna with something better... how hard is it to replace?? what can i repalce it with so i can get better reception? i_a_n112784 09-05-2005, 04:29 PM The head unit has a lot to do with reception, id hope it is better than the stock radio. The antenna wire is kinda a pain to run, especially if you have a stock sunroof. If you have some wire ties or zip ties it can be done without too much effort just keep it out of the way of your pedals. Remember not to kink/bind the new wire, because it is just a coax wire and the tiny inner wire isnt that durable. Personally, unless there is a break in your current antenna wire, I don't think that it will help much, but I could be wrong. snowman2005 09-05-2005, 05:53 PM my pioneer head unit suxs when it comes to reception too. i just have to make sure to pull my antana all the way out if i want some reception Jen805 09-05-2005, 05:55 PM my antenna is all bent out of shape..i replaced stock deck which the reception was the same.. as my new pioneer.. reception has been no better on either deck. i_a_n112784 09-05-2005, 09:50 PM I don't know about the ones from 92-95, but pioneer makes most all of honda's stereo systems. That may be why you guys aren't noticing much if any of a difference. I personally like the kenwoods, as far as a head unit goes. They have a great FM sensitivity (lower number the better reception you get). vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
