what should the idle rpm be on a 1991 300z tt? at around 800-900 or so my car shocks like crazy so Im going to try to adjust it. At 1000 it seems to run perfect but I think 1000 is a little to high. But this is my first 300z tt so Im learning as I go. thanks

800 rpm is where you want to be i think.. depends if it's an auto or 5 spd... rough idle could be caused by worn plugs, dirty injectors... try changing your plugs and see if that helps the idle

normal idle speed in neutral is about 750rpms...the book says 700rpms. so its not because the idle is too low.

you could have a faulty sensor or a dirty injectors.

try running some injector cleaner through it, change the fuel filter and air filter...thats for starters. it should clear up. its probably the fuel filter...for some rason people forget to change these.

mine idles about 700-800 rpms just fine. like they said, try changing your filters and running some injector cleaner through it, that might help.

at like 4-7000 rpm when i try to pass someone on the freeway/street it jumps. like a stop and go motion. it almost seems like the injectors stop spraying gas. is it a big job it change to fuel filter?

no its not a big job. turn the motor off, remove the gas cap to relieve pressure and then just pull the hoses off. easy as pie. :D

well, the fuel filter is in an easy spot, but is a bitch to get the damn hoses off, its like they are glued on there.

yep... the hoses can be a pain to get off... just get a pair of plyers that won't tear the hose and give it a good twist back and forth to break the seal that it formed on there and yank it off... that's what i had to do when i changed mine...

yeah, i use the clamps with the rubber covers over the clamping teeth. works very good...

the ones that are a real pain are the ones that are on the fuel gallery on top of the upper plenum.
