Cel: P0172, P0133, P0303patwuyo 09-04-2005, 08:39 PM Hi, The ECU of my Honda Accord 2000 SE managed to record these 3 codes 1. P0172 System too rich Bank 1 2. P0133 O2 sensor CKT slow response Bank 1 Sensor 1 3. P0303 Cylinder 3 misfire detected How do I proceed to find out what needs to be placed? 1 and 2 look related so I should replace the #1 O2 sensor? 3 means the spark plug for cylinder 3 needs to be replaced? Please help me out. Thanks. Igovert500 09-05-2005, 07:23 PM I'd start with the plugs, if that doesn't solve it all, change the o2 sensors. StealthSonic 09-08-2005, 04:03 PM Your car may need maintainance. Try replace new spark plugs and wires, than distrubitor cap. I believe you have to reset to computer once you replace it. Just open the front passenger door, on the side of the dash (near the door mounting) open fuse door and pull out fuse #13, make sure the car is off before you remove that fuse. Wait for about 10 sec and then insert it back. The computer, clock, and radio will be reset. Start the car and rev it up to 3000 rpm for about 5 sec. The problem should go away. If the engine check light comes on again, you might want to examine the O2 sensor. Your car has 2 sensors the hardest problem is figuring out which one is bad. Primaly sensor is the one that is in the manifold (front of the engine) and the 2nd one is at the catalytic converter (under the car) If you remove or get a new O2 sensor, whatever you do, don't touch the tip with your finger. It will damage the sensor. There's a way to test the sensor, but I'll tell you only if you needed to know. It takes time to test it. Also I recommend getting O2 sensor from the dealer because they its ready to be bolted on. Other brands might require you to cut wires and etc. to get it to fit. Good luck fixing your car! patwuyo 09-12-2005, 02:46 PM Thanks for your replies. I will start with the spark plugs and work down the list if CEL comes back again. patwuyo 10-06-2005, 04:51 PM Hi I changed the spark plugs and examined the wires and distributor cap (which looked okay), reset the CEL, and after a day the light came back. Pulled the code again and it gave just one this time P0133 O2 sensor CKT slow response Bank 1 Sensor 1 Please give me the instructions on how to test the O2 sensor, as I want to find out the "sensor CKT slow response" is caused by the sensor, or something else... bad wiring connectors maybe?? Thanks a lot in advance. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
