Have a 94 lumnia van, it was leaking Actually more like pouring coolant from water pump, replaced water pump refilled coolant , and instantly started to pour from water pump again, any ideas what the problem could be?

there is a gasket between the pump and the motor. Did you clean the old gasket off completly, and did you remember to reinstall a new gasket? And also put some gasket material, I dont know high temp silcone or something, on both sides of the gasket before you put the pump back together. Other than that, make sure its torqued correctly, maybe try crossways like torqing a wheel. Does it leak from the pump itself, or where the pump meets the motor? If from the pump, replace the pump again. I dont know much else from here. good luck.

Thanks for the info, I did put a gasket on but did not seal it , guess I have to take it off and put some gasket sealer on. It is definatley leaking from the pump. Thank again.

glad to hear it. I hope you used high temp silicon gasket material, or it may become brittle under higher temperatures and crack apart. I also hope it was torqued down correctly.

Single Mom doing own repairs? OOOoooh RAH!! Good to hear. My wife type will like reading this post. THAT is what I like to see! Husband, and father of 3 daughters that is trying to make sure that they have the "basics" as I teach them driver's ed, etc. I've long said that there's nothing magical that a mechanic does that a Mom, young lady or Shade Tree mechanic can't do as well, properly equipped.
