94 corolla removing the halfshaftsthe_cookie_monster 09-04-2005, 01:16 PM Hey everybody, I have a quick question for everyone. I have been working on removing the transmission on my 94 geo prism, which is the same as a toyota corolla. I have been having some problems removing the halfshafts from the transmission. Everything I have found has said that all you have to do is pry them out. Well I have been trying and haven't got them out. Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions? Thanks veedubmechanic 09-05-2005, 07:11 PM After taking the end out of the hub, take a long pry bar and a hammer. Turn the axle so the flat side is down and put the pry bar on that and hit the end with a hammer. IT should come out after a couple hits. ALso put somehting under the tranny because its gonna spray tranny fluid. the_cookie_monster 09-06-2005, 02:25 PM When you say the flat side of the axle do you mean the flat notches on th axle near the transmission? veedubmechanic 09-13-2005, 11:29 PM yes vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
