Seat proceeded in the change of the diesel engines in the Ibiza, replacing the 1.9 SDI and 1.4 TDI of 64 and 75 hp respectively, with the ones of 1.4 litres, with an output of 70 and 80 hp. The two new three-cylinder engines of same the capacity but of different output are based in the well known 1.4 TDI.
