1993 capri

need some help, please. car started dying. everything shutdown. no electrical power. no buzzing when key in ignition, nothing.I sprayed contact cleaner in switch key hole and everything ok for a while. Now started shutting down again. Could this be bad ignition switch? If so, why affecting electrical?
