94 Honda CivicPo_Jess 09-03-2005, 08:09 AM Do you have any experience with the following problem. My wife was slowly pulling into a parking slot and the car accelerated when the brakes were applied. Car fortunately hit a tree rather than jumping into street (traffic). First occurance in 1995 within months of original lease, returned to dealer, they could not find a problem. This acceleration has occured about five times over the period of lease/ownership, mmost recently two days before my wife's incident. I was driving and slowed for a left turn at an intersection. Fortunately, there was no traffic and I was able to make the turn easily. The car is in the shop now, what should they look for? snowman2005 09-04-2005, 12:10 AM wow never heard of this before. does the car have abs? wildfish 10-26-2005, 01:01 PM I had the problem a couple of times, driving barefoot is good sometimes, I noticed the matt sometimes rides up on the gas pedal. Not all the time, but once is enough. Look for a warp in your floor mat. superbluecivicsi 10-26-2005, 02:40 PM there is no way for the car to accelerate when the brake pedal is applied. it is impossible. when you are stepping on the brakes, something or someone is stepping on the acclerator instead of the brakes. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
