I'm still waiting for my manual to come in the mail, but I need to know how to open the Air Filter container. I just bought this car: 94 Accord LX 5-Spd.

I see the 4 screws, but after I undo those, there's this "air-scoop" looking thing that gets in the way of the air filter container top from lifting up.

What do I do?

After you unbolt the 4 screws you just pull out the air intake piece. It pulls right out no screws or anything. Then you unbolt the bracket on top of the battery then you can open the air filter box and push it aside and take out the air filter. Its easy.

When you say "air intake piece", you're referring to that thing that's sitting partially over the air filter box? If so, then you're saying I can pull that out - as in pull it straight up??

if you are referring to the piece kinda overlaps the box...that sits between the air box and headlamp...then yes...you can pull that straight up (no bolts).
