1988 Mustang Saleen

There is one for sale for $2,000. I don't know the condition of the car other than the body has slight damage, nothing big. I am wondering how much these are worth? I have searched on the net and there is not much information on this car. Does anyone know where I can find the specs for this car? Thanks

Go take a look at the car, if the damage isn't horrible buy it. They aren't worth a ton, but i've seen mint versions for over $20K

Hehe...well it ended up being a clone, but I ended up buying it anyway. :) I love it. It's a 5 speed with 2.73 gears. The top end was rebuilt about 50,000 miles ago including Cobra heads, port and polish, and GT-40 upper and lower intake. Also has headers of some sort and Flows. Here's a couple pics.

Hi, overall it runs very well. She does have a small diet of oil and coolant though...nothing major though. It passed smog... The guy who sold it to me said it has about 270 rwhp. It really pulls after 3k up to 6k. I'm gonna take it to the track most likely in the spring and I'm hoping for low 14's, although with my limited experience I wouldn't be surprised with mid to high 14's. I would be ecstatic if I got anywhere in the 13's. :iceslolan And I also want to take it and get it dyno'ed, but I'm broke. I do think I got a hell of a deal on it though as I've been looking at what fox 5.0 have been going for and the cheapest, ugliest/run-down, stock looking ones are $1500+ I bet I could sell this for $3,000 easily. But I'm not cus I love it. My first V8. :evillol:

Well, my tires aren't exactly new and I don't have a lot of track experience. But you are right, with an experienced driver it could prolly get in the mid 13's. And maybe even low 13's with DR's and some gear. But I don't want to put that kind of stress on the car (real sticky tires/high rpm launch) since it's not exactly new. Try to make it last as long as possible. :wink:

But I'm flat broke right now...:banghead: In a way though, I like being able to go forever in 1st before I have to shift. And 3rd goes over 100, which I think is kinda cool. :grinyes: But 4th and 5th are pretty damn doggy...:shakehead

Yep, I'm glad I bought it. I could proll turn around and sell it for $3,000+ right now. But it's not gonna happen...it's too much fun and it's my new stress release as well...:grinno:
