vw golf or toyota corollaarv_k 09-01-2005, 05:10 AM hi i am nuew here first of i am in london and i need to buy a car. i am here for only 2 yrs so after that time i need to resell the car. i have two options currently 1. vw golf 1.8 gl. 5dr hatchback 1995 - cost £2200 automatic, sunroof, central locking, alarm, cassete/radio, power steering. silver colour 2. toyota corolla 1.3 2000 - cost £3500 auto, central locking, casette/radio, alarm, power steering, red colour. the factors i am interested in are a) value for money..... is the price good? which has better milage? which has lesser maintanance costs? which is more reliable? and which has better resale value? b) bout the car....which is a better car..? i intend to use the car sparingly...maybe go out of town on a few weekends...400mile trips max (uk is a small country).....do the shopping....go to the airport to get friends/rels... maybe go to work when it rains/too cold.. since my use is quite limited i dont want to spend a packet on the car..my budget was £3000. and would like to recoup most of it when i leave 2 yrs later. help drdisque 09-01-2005, 12:40 PM the corolla will get better gas mileage with its smaller engine, also, there's a good chance it will be easier to sell when you need to leave as its newer and is the best selling car in the world. I'm not familiar with vehicle prices in the UK so I can't give you any info on resale or value. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
