1.06 canadian per liter. It was 1.09 per liter on Vancouver Island last week.
Diesel is 1.00 per liter here

I think that a US gallon is around 3.5L, but I'm not sure

This is why I run my little Diesel powered car most of the time, it gets 50+ on a bad day

Do you have those smart cars in the U.S., ugly diesel things made by Mercadies that get 80mpg?

I know that it's a UK web site but they're in Canada too

Well Fuel just went up a dime a liter here today.
That's still about 0.30 U.S per gallon at once.
What a JOKE!

im not sure about the fuel economy on diesels here, but prices are about the some for unleaded and diesel in denver. diesel used to be about .20 to .30 cents cheaper/gal. Why is gas so much over there? i figured that you spend $61.45canadian on 14 gallons (53Liters), which costs me $43.26..... after conversion rates you spend around $51USD. either was thats about 3 hours of work that i am working for.......JUST TO GET THERE.

We pay a fortune in road taxxes.

I'm thinking of either making a small bio diesel plant for my Diesel car, or doing a conversion to run it off of used Veggi oil from the restraunts.

Either way I'm still hooped when I want to off road or go fishing with my Blazer

not enough to justify a 90 cent increase in 2 days... but im squeezing a few more to the tank out of her now, roughly 20

i thought the acetone didn't make much of a difference in the F/I engines, or at least as much as carbed engines.

over all, i think the conversion would be very cost effective, getting sone restaraunts to sell it may be a problem since the oil is "recycled". It can be filtered hundreds of times. Theres usually the mom and pop hamburger stands though.

That's what they say about the acetone Mike, but I have a friend with a tour company that is saving about $30.00 Canadian every weekend in fuel costs since he tried it.

Where I live the restraunt's vegi oil isn't recycled and is actually a big problem.

If there's enough demand for it I wouldn't mind taking all the used oil, converting it to bio diesel and selling it.
The only local gas station owner would of course try to shut me down right away.

whats done with the veggi oil then??? just dumped it the dumpsters??? if so, talk to a restaraunt manager about buying from them.

for the most part the vegi oil is dumped however they can get rid of it. It does harden like you said, but there are 2 ways to avoid that and they recomend using both methods together.
One is heat the fuel with an in-line heater or a heated tank.
My car left the factory with an in-line heater so I'm set there.
And they also recomend using a little bit of gas in the fuel. They have charts for the amount, but it isn't much

Here's a couple of links on the subject

This is a 10 month old thread, and we try not to bump old threads too often.

However I guess that it's fitting.

That's why I'm dropping a Diesel engine into my Blazer, I figure that it'll pay for it's self in just over a year. And that's with a re-built transmission, and the motor re-bearing'd
