P0340

Have 2001 GCL Laredo. about a week ago, it was showing P0302, then P0303, had throttle body & injectors serviced, new plugs etc. Have continuing problem with it taking 3 turns of key to crank (fuel pump seal or fuel pump) but have not fixed due to $. Now a week later, am getting P0340 - camshaft sensor?

The real question is 1) will it ever end; 2) will it affect emissions because I have to get state inspection this week. 3) what should it cost to fix P0340?

The P0340 was probably tripped due to the P0302 & 03 codes. Is the jeep starting and running as of now. Any info on starting and running condition will help :smokin: :grinno: Dale

A faulty camshaft sensor can cause long crank times.

If your check engine light is on it won't pass state inspection.

P0340 - No Cam Signal at PCM. No camshaft signal detected during engine cranking.

Bob D., is right it iwll not passs emissions with the CHECK ENGINE light on. They are not allowed to check the emissions with the CHECK ENGINE light on.

Now it turned itself off and isn't showing up again. Someone told me that I should drive it about 150 miles before taking it to get emissions checked. Is this true?
