The sunroof on my '94 Civic EX doesn't work. It'll just pull back but not lift up and therefore scratches my roof. None of the other posts on this site seemed to help, so I asked my local mechanic. He said there was a problem with the motor itself. So I promptly got on eBay to find a replacement. The only one I can find is for a '96 civic. My question is; are the motors interchangeable? and is there a quick solution to where I don't even have to buy/install a new motor?

ALso have a 95 ex with that problem.. chances are it's not your motor, because all that does is power the gears to make it move. Lifting should be a function of springs or something of that nature.

No idea if a 96 motor would work.

It's a 2 dr. This afternoon, I went and took off the glass to look around to see what I could see and it seems that the motor is in fact fine. But there's something wrong with one of the sliders (driver side). It'll go up, back and then when I push forward it drops sooner than it should and scratches it's way back into place. This drop also somehow affects the other side too. I can get it opened and closed without a problem now just by pushing/pulling the glass while pushing the buttons and it works fine. But in case I do want to replace the sliders, how would I install them? How do I get to them because they're in-between the roof and the ceiling. What do I dismantle to get to them? BTW, thanks for the quick response!
