Peugeots....how are they doing these days?

I always heard that Peugeots were crappy cars, in other words, unreliable and they break easily. I always had a thing for the new stylings for Peugeot for example: the 607 and the new 407 coupe which I think looks outstanding. THere's a Peugeot dealership just in the next town over that still exists and still runs for business, which makes me wonder if they would be able to get a Peugeot here in the states. A few years ago I was walking in a neighboring town square and I saw a new Peugeot 206 5-door pull up next to me. I was in awe because Peugeots stopped selling in the States around mid 1990s after the 405 right? I saw the Peugeot symbol on the grill and saw "Peugeot" and "206" on the back. I also have the question, are their cars doing any better? Are they now better built and more reliable? Because from what I've seen with the new 407 Coupe, that is one hell of a nice car and I love Peugeots styling with the front head lights. If they are doing alot better build quality wise then sure, I maybe interested in the new 407 coupe.

I've loved peugeot, not too big a fan of the newer styling, but it's starting to grow on me. I had the same idea as you, mainly being b/c there is also a peugeot dealer in my area. However, I called them to see what they had and it was a really really disappointing selection. It was mainly a bunch of used hatches from the mid to late 80's. Oh well, maybe you'll have better luck at your peugeot dealer.

no, you still can't get them in the US, the newer one you saw probably had manufacturer plates, which means it has to be parked, sent back, or destroyed after a year.
