my civic has a jdm d15b and it is supposed to redline at 8200, but it redlines at 7500 and I have a cel code of 21. do you think that is why my redline changed? I think that is the vtec solenoid. if so should I replace it? (my vtec still works though)

I am using the ecu that came with the motor. it used to have a higher rev limiter but then my cel light came on and now it doesn't have as high a rev limiter. it didn't come stock with vtec but now it has a vtec motor and ecu. and the vtec does work

I believe it is fine I don't have a gauge. but the light doesn't come on while the motor is running

Is your oil old and shitty? If it is your ecu might put your engine on limp mode, maybe not tho if your VTEC still engages.

i think the red line in the D!%B vtec start at 7200 rbm . and the d15b vtec red line never run in 8000 rbm .
