I have a 2002 Chevy Malibu that I just bought 3 months ago. The keyless entry just recntly failed. I changed the battery but it still doesnt work. Do I need to reprogram the car or the the keyless entry opener? Or can I just buy a new one?

Your remote may be broken. You can probably get another one for a good price on ebay but may need the dealer to program it.
