my 95 civic has 450,000km on it, still runs really strong but i want something with more power and vtec a friend has a smashed civic with a d16z6, what all would i need to do to get the z6 working in my cx? what would you expect to pay at a shop for this swap to be done?

Do the swap yourself... Go buy an engine hoist (I'm sure you can find a used one locally for around $100, that's what I did) get some Air Tools, a good Tool set... And dig in.

It's a basic swap... All that's needed is some simple wiring for the VTEC pressure switch. Everything else is pretty much bolt in.

Awsome, well my dad is a autobody man so we got a engine lift, and all the tools, so i can just drop the engine in without wiring anything up just plug computer in and it should run? but i will need to wire vtec up for that to work

You need to run wires for vtec. http://www.hondaswap.com/~pills/obd1guide.html (you don't need the IAB stuff).
