I am thinking seriously about converting a Geo Metro 2 door hatchback to an EV (Electric Vehicle). I need a Metro with a clear title and a working manual transmission that can pass a Virginia State safety inspection without too much work. I won't need the engine (or associated parts) because I am putting in an electric motor and some batteries. The other requirement is that I need to be able to get it to the Washington DC area without spending a fortune. If someone here has a Metro without an engine or with a blown engine that they would like to sell please contact me. If someone needs an engine and the associated parts that I won't be needing and wants to go in with me on the purchase of a Metro we might be able to work that out. If anyone has any advice that might help me find the car I want I would love to hear it. I read one thread here where a guy bought a Metro for les than $100 that sounds perfect to me because my wife already thinks I am crazy to do this so the less I spend the less angry she will be.
