Pelotons pic questionArchangelGTR 08-22-2005, 10:19 AM Peloton: (And others who may know) (Didn't want to ruin Peloton's magnificent thread) What are the hard lines over the exhaust pipes in pic DSC00593? Are those o2 sensors for emissions compliance? Don't recall seeing those on any other McLarens. Please correct me if I'm wrong. Peloton25 08-22-2005, 10:36 AM Because #068 was built in 1997, it needed to meet the EPA's OBD-II standard for cars produced in 1996 or later in order to receive it's Show & Display exemption. The black cylinder in the center near the back of the engine is actually an air pump, and the lines run to the cats to feed them with air. I'm not sure of their exact function, or what other stuff had to be done to the car, but all the work was performed by JK Technologies on the east coast, and they may have had help from the McLaren Service Center there in New Jersey. I didn't see anything else that was noticable as far as modifications were concerned, but I'm guessing that a lot of that stuff wouldn't be so obvious - even to someone like me. >8^) ER PatrickT82 08-22-2005, 10:51 AM maybe you can post that pic here also??
