i have 20" wheels on my tahoe. i changed the brakes today and when i put the wheels back on i broke the center part of my locking lug nut when i torqued them down. the little key that goes in it doesnt fit very tight and it is just going to strip it out. the outside of the lug nut is smooth any suggestions

If you have access to air tools, get a 1/2 impact gun and an impact socket. the socket should be just slightly larger than the lug nut, beat it on the lug nut with a BFH, put your impact gun on reverse and sppppvvvvv...... or if you have a cut-off wheel, you could cut some notches in the top of the lug, as though for a large flat-blade screwdriver, find something solid to put across the notches, that may turn the lug...

Bought a wrecked Z28 a couple years ago for the drivetrain. Had these lugs and no key. I just used a chisel and a hammer to turn it off. Maybe a last resort in this case but it will bring it off. Best to do it now and not on the highway with a flat to change though.
