Lightweighs.....jcsaleen 08-21-2005, 07:57 PM Caterham Seven CSR 260 or Ariel Atom 2.... There both extremely lightweight each under 2000 each with driver included. Which would be the better track performer? Model:Caterham Seven CSR 260 Price: £34,000 Engine: 2.3-litre four-cylinder, 260bhp Transmission: Six-speed manual, rear-wheel drive Top speed: 155mph 0-60mph: 3.1 seconds Weight: 570kg ________________________________ Model: Areil Atom 2 (220bhp) Engine type: Four-cylinder, 1998ccV12, 5935cc Power: 220bhp @ 8200rpm Torque: 145lb ft @ 6100rpm Transmission: Six-speed manual, rear-wheel drive Acceleration: 0-60mph: 2.9 Top speed: 135mph Tyres: (front) 195/50 R15, (rear) 225/45 R16 Fuel: 27mpg (estimated) Weight: under 500kg Price: £24,000 Zachp911 08-21-2005, 09:33 PM I think you know my choice, Ariel Atom all the way!! :grinyes: NISSANSPDR 08-22-2005, 05:58 AM The Atom is pretty sick Layla's Keeper 08-23-2005, 02:00 AM I'd have to get a Caterham, if for no other reason than the sheer history and character of the machine. And I'd have to get an older Caterham with an old Cosworth four-banger or Rover K series engine. I don't want anything that doesn't have a brace of side-drafts hanging off the side. fairladyz_gt-r 08-23-2005, 11:42 AM i think the atom probably is going to be more extream due to its weight. jcsaleen 08-24-2005, 04:22 PM I agree I love the caterham. Its design is so nice. btw - My user cp is busted anyone else have there threads not show up lately. Also nissan speeder - Thats wangan in your sig or atleast the turn off the famous meeting spot diakikafuto in your sig. Very nice shot  VAD0R 08-24-2005, 04:44 PM I like the K1 Attack. (http://www.k1-styling.sk/menu.php?menu=videos_menu.htm&id=videos.htm) The one powered by soybean oil is cool. Do you think kit cars can count here? jcsaleen 08-24-2005, 05:01 PM I know of the K1 it uses the same engine as the ariel atom believe it or not. VAD0R 08-24-2005, 07:17 PM I thought the Ariel used a supcharged K20A while the K1 Attacked is normally fitted with a supercharged B20Z or RSX engine. The reason I say normally is since the K1 is a kit car and can be fitted with any engine you can manage to fit or fabricate to put in there. Such as how that West Philadelphia class put an eletric motor in the front and turbo diesel in the back. jcsaleen 08-24-2005, 07:44 PM Depends I heard that one of the models came with an H22A engine. VAD0R 08-24-2005, 07:58 PM I think thats the engine I meant. It is just that I got mixed up after hearing about someone wanting to get a K1 and fit in a H22A with CRV (B20Z) heads and supercharge it. knorwj 08-25-2005, 03:31 PM As far as I knew the Atom only had two engine options, a B16B from a civic type R or a supercharged one making well over 300hp. VAD0R 08-25-2005, 09:29 PM As far as I knew the Atom only had two engine options, a B16B from a civic type R or a supercharged one making well over 300hp. I was reffering to engine installation options for the K1 Attack, sorry for going off topic there. I heard about how the Atom has a supercharged B16B on Top Gear, it also pulled one of the fastest track times. Does anyone know if the Caterham CSR was faster? NISSANSPDR 08-28-2005, 01:30 AM Also nissan speeder - Thats wangan in your sig or atleast the turn off the famous meeting spot diakikafuto in your sig.
