sanding your primer?

Do you guys sand the primer before laying a coat of paint? Seems counter productive to me since you'd have to dust it off again, or even wash it... I never have, just wondering if anyone bothers.

Well what do you do after you sand though, to get rid of any dust? Do you wash it all over again?

To sand primer you wetsand. It sort of washes it self. I always wetsand my primer, base coat, and clear coat. I put a drop of dish washing soap in the water too. This helps clean the surface and lubricate it.

After sanding, I just rinse it down.

i usually sand if it looks like it needs it, wash it again, and then another thin coat of primer. or just don't sand between coats.

This is my routine too. Seems to work fine for me.
