As far as I know, thats the biggest V8 on sale now. SuperHighOutput 08-18-2005, 05:57 PM As far as I know I think the largest displacement V8 you can buy is the 572cu.in. But I don't think the 720 is for sale yet. here is the THREAD (http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=443545) in the chevy forum that I started a while ago. And here is the WEBSITE (http://www.sallee-chevrolet.com/ChevyBigBlockV8s/572.html) where you can buy it. Pretty penny tho. It will make your pockets $13,000 lighter. Sticky 08-18-2005, 07:11 PM Yea. That's the same price as a hemi crate engine from Mopar. Except the 572 has more power and cubes. thecackster 08-18-2005, 07:16 PM That's the same price as a hemi crate engine from Mopar. Except the 572 has more power and cubes. GM > Mopar k3smostwanted 08-18-2005, 07:35 PM yeah...i would say the 572 is the largest. i have a guy that i work with that will be buying over the winter to put in his show truck so i hear all about it everyday. GTStang 08-19-2005, 12:59 AM 572... pfffff There is a 1000cu. Crate Motor. thecackster 08-19-2005, 11:08 AM psh, probably for a semi! :shakehead: GTStang 08-21-2005, 12:05 PM psh, probably for a semi! :shakehead: Nope the block was originally designed for off-shore powerboat racing. But they cast it to use BBC mounts and a BBC bellhousing pattern for really sick bastards with a lot of money to throw at their car. curtis73 08-21-2005, 12:30 PM 8.1L - 1970 Cadillac Eldorado :) Yup, largest passenger car production V8. 4.3" bore, 4.304" stroke, 500 cubic inches, not to mention a high nickel block, great aftermarket support, and only 30 lbs heavier than a chevy small block. I have one in a 66 Bonneville and I love it. Twyzz 09-03-2005, 03:45 PM D.S.S. makes a 600 ci for Fords. 950 hp with no power adder. go here if you wanna here it http://www.dssracing.com/images/600svo.wav Ford>GM>Mopar :D ec437 09-03-2005, 03:50 PM Ford>GM>Mopar :D I agree. Ford actually makes money on the cars they sell. kman10587 09-03-2005, 04:33 PM Last I checked, Chrysler Corporation was the only one of the big three actually making money off of their vehicles. Ford and GM are both in the red, and would be even worse off if not for their trucks and SUVs. blakscorpion21 09-07-2005, 06:29 PM how do you convert cubic inches to liters? is there a way to do it cause i can get a better grasp of the size if it was in liters. i know 572 is alot but how many litres so i can compare kit to ther cars? thanks and by the way mopar>gm>ford. potsdamcartel 09-07-2005, 08:02 PM its around 9.3 litres blakscorpion21 09-07-2005, 09:42 PM so a liter is about 60 cubic inches? CBFryman 09-10-2005, 02:44 PM its 58.2 if i remember right but dont quote me on that. 1 inch= 2.54cm so 1cubic inch = 16.387064cc so 572ci=9373.4cc=9.3l ;) blakscorpion21 09-11-2005, 09:45 PM arent you a math wiz lol 2.2 Straight six 09-12-2005, 06:40 PM scania trucks from sweden make a 16litre V8 truck engine, dunno what that is in cubic inches. curtis73 09-12-2005, 07:25 PM about 975 ci. Elk 09-19-2005, 04:53 AM so a liter is about 60 cubic inches? It's 61, well 61.023758990325284:biggrin:. 305 = 5 liter engine. potsdamcartel 09-19-2005, 12:17 PM dammit! its 60, good ole rounded off, right in the middle, easily calculable, 60. beef_bourito 09-19-2005, 04:50 PM use www.onlineconversion.com it's got everything you need like volume speed power, etc. I'd love to see that 572 in a duster or something of the sort, basically the smallest car you can find. then fuel injection, turbocharger, all that beautiful stuff. Fed 09-24-2005, 08:39 PM Not a V8 but probably one of the biggest engines put in a car. Cadillac Sixteen :worshippy http://www.rsportscars.com/foto/03/cadillacsixteen03.jpg http://www.rsportscars.com/foto/03/cadillacsixteen03_engine.jpg 14.7L V16 830 cu in making 1000hp. Sexy beef_bourito 09-24-2005, 11:28 PM too bad it didn't make it into production, i'd love to own one ofthose cars, or at leased see one because unless they sell for 1000$ i can't buy one. Being in high school sucks Jaguar D-Type 09-25-2005, 06:57 PM True, but Cadillac did make a V-16 engine from 1930 until 1940. This 1937 Cadillac V16 had a 452 cubic inch engine. http://www.theraceforum.com/images/forum/2915-34-3.jpg http://www.theraceforum.com/images/forum/2915-33-1.jpg http://www.theraceforum.com/images/forum/2915-33-2.jpg http://www.theraceforum.com/images/forum/2915-33-3.jpg http://www.theraceforum.com/images/forum/2915-34-1.jpg http://www.theraceforum.com/images/forum/2915-34-2.jpg vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
