#061 on Top GearSD F1 08-18-2005, 01:43 AM They compared modern supercars; F60, Zonda, Porsche GT to the older supercars; F40, XJ220, F1... Needless to say the F1 killed them all. Nick Mason let those guys use his F60, but not his F1. Great show of #061 going through its paces and I never really liked the color but in this episode, looked great. :smokin: Peloton25 08-18-2005, 02:16 AM The episode is from the end of last year. We had a good discussion on it when it originally aired in the UK and found it's way onto the web in downloadable form. You can read about it here: Download the preview of next seasons top gear NOW!!!! (http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=309475) >8^) ER McLaren F1 Guy 08-18-2005, 10:07 AM Nick Mason rules. In my favorite band and owns my favorite car. Sweeet. Thanks for the heads up, by the way! mini magic 08-18-2005, 10:37 AM Its an Enzo, the F60 isn't out yet. SD F1 08-18-2005, 05:10 PM Its an Enzo, the F60 isn't out yet. Yeah I just thought is was funny how they kept calling it one though! WG Peloton25 08-18-2005, 05:45 PM Personally, I couldn't find the strength to laugh about it. They should be providing factual information along with the entertainment. Gordon Murray was right about Clarkson - "Wanker!" :lol2: >8^) ER SD F1 08-24-2005, 07:04 PM Personally, I couldn't find the strength to laugh about it. They should be providing factual information along with the entertainment. Gordon Murray was right about Clarkson - "Wanker!" :lol2: >8^) ER Oh please tell me that is in an interview somewhere I can read! He looks like the older brother of the guy who does "The Genuine Article" tv show and some Campbells Soup commercials! If it wasn't for the cars I would never watch the friggen show! WG Peloton25 08-24-2005, 07:46 PM Sorry - I don't have it in print. That's actually something that Mr. Bernoulli told us (http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/showpost.php?p=1386949&postcount=27) a while back. >8^) ER murraydeschot 08-25-2005, 11:50 AM Gordon Murray was right about Clarkson - "Wanker!" :lol2: >8^) ER You gotta give Clarkson his due though. Before he became the linchpin of the show, Top Gear was filled with reviews of Motorised Shopping Trolleys and 'sensible' family cars for a budget. However, since taking the reins we've feasted on the ultimate in automotive erotica/exotica ... Love him or hate him, NO other European motoring show has such a wide diversity of SERIOUS horny cars! Peloton25 08-25-2005, 12:48 PM I prefer 5th Gear - which offers up a sampling of both ends of the automotive spectrum. Plus Tiff and Vicki (I <3 Vicki) both know how to drive. No need to hire the Stig for that show. :grinno: >8^) ER F1 monster 08-25-2005, 12:58 PM Clarkson is pure entertainment, and very good entertainment it is, too. Tiff/Vik are a bit more committed to motojournalism. I would like to do track days with Tiff, but for a trip across Europe, I think Clarkson would be the best/most hilarious company. Vicki should just always be present (and available, if you know what I mean...:D) . All excellent, I think. mini magic 08-25-2005, 01:36 PM Clarkson is a journalist. I've said it before and i'll say it again. He could be one of the most talented writers out there, he just has a bad attitude toward a lot of things. But this also makes him really funny. His books are a scream but not liking a car because of what someone said.... F1 monster 08-25-2005, 01:40 PM Which car did he not like because of something said by someone??! Surely not the McLaren? :) mini magic 08-25-2005, 03:48 PM He did say in the 200mph article that he respects the work that went into it but the end result isn't what mclaren says the F1 is..... Peloton25 08-25-2005, 04:01 PM Which car did he not like because of something said by someone??! Surely not the McLaren? :) If Mr Bernoulli's claims are true, and he's never been wrong before, then yes, Clarkson's negative opinion on the F1 stems from being called a 'wanker' by GM. :screwy: Enough about that bafoon though - let's refocus our attention in this thread. :naughty: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v482/Peloton25/General%20Web%20Photos/two04.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v482/Peloton25/General%20Web%20Photos/5g30040312.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v482/Peloton25/General%20Web%20Photos/5g30040307.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v482/Peloton25/General%20Web%20Photos/5g20100310.jpg Dangerous curves indeed. :grinyes: :grinyes: :grinyes: :grinyes: :grinyes: :grinyes: :grinyes: :grinyes: :grinyes: :grinyes: :grinyes: :grinyes: :grinyes: :grinyes: :grinyes: :grinyes: :grinyes: :grinyes: :grinyes: :grinyes: :grinyes: :grinyes: :grinyes: :grinyes: :grinyes: :grinyes: :grinyes: :grinyes: :grinyes: :grinyes: >8^) ER F1 monster 08-25-2005, 04:12 PM Vicki's ok, but she ain't all that... You should have seen the lamborghini girls at Concourso! http://www.mclarenfreak.com/Pics/Resized_DSC01179.JPG http://www.mclarenfreak.com/Pics/Resized_DSC01180.jpg http://www.mclarenfreak.com/Pics/Resized_DSC01181.JPG http://www.mclarenfreak.com/Pics/Resized_DSC01182.JPG I was partial to this one... Peloton25 08-25-2005, 04:18 PM I've seen the "Lamborghini girls" you're referring to: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v482/Peloton25/temp/th_lambo_ladies.jpg (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v482/Peloton25/temp/lambo_ladies.jpg) I bet none of them could teach me to drive the way Vicki could. ;) >8^) ER F1 monster 08-25-2005, 04:27 PM I am sure they all know how to drive stick and could teach us a thing or two... :D SD F1 08-25-2005, 08:21 PM They both could get your rims shinny! Peloton25 08-25-2005, 08:30 PM We were done discussing that TopGear episode anyway, right? >8^) ER SD F1 08-25-2005, 10:04 PM Umm what?
