I can't comment specifically for a Cavalier, but I did inquire about a different vehicle several years ago at a local body trim company. They had 3 different levels of sunroofs. The cheapest was just a pop up/out and it was like $750. The motorized slide up and out version was around a grand. The top-of-the-line model that pulled down and back under the headliner was around $1500. My memory on the prices though may be a little fuzzy though. Obviously what is available is dependent on the type of car...some car's don't have the headroom available for the top of the line for instance.

...or you could always go cheap and get a dremel and some plexiglass... :)

Yeah, I saw someone with that in their Civic a while ago when I was working the drive through. It was pretty retarded, he really didnt do a good job.

dont waste your time cause with the money you spend youd be better off spending it towards performance parts. plus with an aftermarket wun roof, youll have to rerun ceiling light, cut a big ass hole inyour car, and more than likely leaks are going to happen.

Not everyone wants to drag race between stoplights. I know that one of the main features for the car I just bought was that it should have a convertible top...or if not a convertible top, a sunroof. The only way I would have settled for something that didn't have a sunroof was for the price to be sufficiently low enough that I could get a sunroof installed professionally and still be under my budget.

There is a place near where I live in Minneapolis, MN that can install their most basic sunroof that just pops up for $350. Try going here: http://www.webastoshowroom.com/locator/Locator_Main.html
Just look up your state and see if there's a place that's near you... that should help you a bit.

ok. im putting a sunroof in my 93 cavalier next year, and it can be done. (im talking about the push up kind). I put one in my fathers blazer for $45. All i did was goto the auto-wreckers, find a car with a sunroof in good condition, and take it out. then u line it up, cut out a hole with a grinder and jig saw, then pop it in. =)

...and hope that you don't hit any wires and such in the process.

You can do anything, Ive got a Pontiac G6 panoramic 4 panel sunroof grafted in my Cavalier. Il be bringing my stock sunroof home from the bodyshop this weekend, probably put it on eBay shortly. The bodyshop ended up finding a smashed G6 and had them cut the whole roof off, then they cut the G6 sunroof and like 6" of surrounding metal out and dropped it into my roof.

I suggest having professionals do something like this since there are so many backyard hackers out there who dont know squat about this kind of work, and end up screwing stuff up.
