need to locate starter relay on 1993 VoyagerSteveArt 08-15-2005, 08:27 PM I am trying to locate the starter relay on my '93, 3.0L Voyager. I accidently shorted out something working on the ignition switch and have no power to the switch. My "key in ignition " beep works and the headlights and interior lights work. I get nothing when I turn the key on, no guages, radio or lights on instrument panel. I checked the red and yellow wires going into the ignition switch and have no power. Figure I tripped and fuse, circuit or relay when short occurred. I have gotten a Chiltons for this year van but it tells nothing about fixing/replacing or doing anything to the ignition switch! it does have wiring schematic but I can't read them well but think I need to check the starter relay since its the only thing between the battery abd the ignition switch, I,ve tried to find the color of wires but can't seem to find the same colors in the engine compartment. I've rambled on enough, Help! Steve james kremer 08-15-2005, 08:45 PM It does'nt sound like it was your relay. It is probably a fusable link. Follow the main wiring harness running up the drivers fender, just under the washer bottle, and you will find them. It's easier to take out the washer bottle to un-wrap your wires. The fusible link you are looking for is orange. It runs into two red wires(ignition),check for current where the two red wires are joined to the link,and you will find your problem. It just happened to my mother in-laws van and it cost $2.05 to fix. Do not try to jump across becuase it's there for a purpose! hope this helps. It is a 20 gauge orange wire, with fuse link printed on it, That is joined to 2 red wires. The orange wire meets up with a white wire and both of them are connected to a larger red wire that seems to come from the battery positve cable. Do I replace the orange fuse link wire with a replacement link? Thanjks for the advice already given. Steve waltham41 08-16-2005, 04:22 PM Make sure that is the problem before cutting the wires. After a frustrating search around NW Denver Auto parts store I had to go to the dealer (uuggh) to get the part. Had to buy six to use one! But I put it in and everything works again!!!!
