anybody here might know the cause of the battery draining on me? I've checked the fuses and disconnected the factory alarm and it still drains. If anybody might know the problem it would help me out.

could be shorting to ground somewhere in the electrical system, or your alternator could be going bad as well

just replaced the alternator, but on the alternator there is an 1 1/2 in cylinder look a like that i didn't put on cause the wire connected to it broke off, maybe that could be the reason.

lol Yea...you need that...can't remember exactly what it is, but I think it's a fuse. Is it causing your problem, maybe...maybe not...but it's definately not helping the situation. Did the battery discharge constantly before you broke this off? No matter what...put it back on! Just cuz something breaks off doesn't mean you can just say "screw it" and toss it...lol

Shouldn't have to take the alt off again. Just replace the little do-hickey.

Sometimes the battery can hold a volt charge but loses it's amperage over night , causing you to think something is draining the battery or vice versa.

Uh...what?

You can't by the voltage. An almost drained battery can sometime still give you a 12V reading. Turn on the radio or lights and the voltage will drop considerably on a dead battery.

i think that cylinder thing you are referring to is the voltage regulator.. if so ofcourse you need it without a doubt .
