High temperature LubricantDRW1000 08-13-2005, 07:00 PM My Haynes manual calls for the use of high temperature lubricant on the adjuster and contact points when doing the brake shoes. What do they mean by this: Lithium grease? Anti sieze? or general chassis /bearing grease? Thanks wiswind 08-13-2005, 07:38 PM I used brake caliper lubricant. Don't over-do it....as too much can get onto the linings....and ruin them. I mention that because I had the dealer do a 4 wheel brake job several years ago.....and one of the things that they did.....was over-do the goo.....and messed up the linings on all 4 wheels. I strongly recommend replacing the hardware......which includes all the springs. The brake shoe hardware kit that I have listed in my pictures includes the self adjuster springs. 1 kit does both sides. I used Bendix drums (one of mine was out of round) and Bendix organic lined shoes. O.E. was organic linings for rear drum brakes. I have ceramic linings for the front disk brakes. I posted pics of my rear brake job..... http://community.webshots.com/album/201931518cScpNK vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
