An official contest is when u have a period of time to chop the car. then u vote. Im sry for the people that are getting bored just cause there chop wasnt good enough to make it in the finals. But these little contests every week as u say arent contest.

Seems like a contest to me.. and just because your contest isnt over yet doesnt mean we have to idly sit by and just wait until its done and over with. thats what happens when you desaturate... it takes all the colour out and leaves it black white and a bunch of shades of grey

It's not much , only tinted windshield , veilside front bumper of an MR2 , some crappy wheels , shaved door handles , S2K emblems and antenna , changed color (the bumper doesn't match too... i know :( ) , cleared the headlights and blinkers , made them xenon too (more bluish shade) , and made some crap sideskirt out of the OEM one... That's pretty much like it... but it sucks , but the deadline is 10th of May so watch out for me... Ahh i forgot , i also cropped the top with the "S2000" off , for an odd reason... the file couldn't fit under 100kb...:o

They are all really nice, but most of you guys change the front and to me that's kind of wrong. :( Since I'm trying to fix the S2000 and to make it look realistic...I'll stay to the original front.

If we can't change out parts on cars (ok, ok, the front's not a "part") what can we do? Just doing color changes and shaving gets boring. And I myself don't like lowered cars, or carbon fiber, so I'm not doing that either. I thought this was a skills exhibition of sorts, and it's not any easier to put a new front on a car than it is to put a kit on...that's fine if you don't want to, but there are few rules here, and I don't see a problem.

Yes I agree with you, but for me I try to fix the S2000 and still make look like it would be an real tuned S2000. Your car has a Jaguar front right? It is really nicely done and all, but it's not an S2000 anymore.... if you know what I mean....

I'm only playin for now... This one is with a:
-Nismo 400R front clip
-new side mirrors (the left one is smaller , on purpose... it's JDM ver. so the steering wheel is on the right so the left mirror can be smaller because it's not that important...)
-Lowered a bit
-crap new color ( i have to find a good quality shot of some car to do a clean conversion yet)
-Lowered a bit
-Shaved... (antenna , handles , badges etc.)
-New wheels
-tinted winshield
-bluish side indicators
-some other crap here and there

Welp, you're right about the badge, but the wiper arm is a reflection on the car. It's there on yours too..

One thing to be said is that in all of your shops, the pic is believable. You always use good quality parts (without those darned jpeg-encoding squares) and you always do a very clean job. That doesn't always count for points with everyone, but it does with me. And I like what you did with the headlights on this one.

Oh, what font is that on your "near godly perfection" mantra? Or is that a Photoshop effect you did? If so, which one and how?

Like in the S2000 you have to use original parts , like S2000 lights , mirrors , bumpers etc. and open category - no explanation needed here - all allowed... In the S2000 only thing allowed from "outside" would be wheels... just a thought... What do you think? Because comparing modded S2000s like Nikezon's or Rockin the Astro's to whole conversions like Boingo82's jag conversion , integra 22's bmw or even my crap 400R would be unfair IMO... Please comment on this... so we know it before the deadline...

this contest should have all original S2k headlamps, body, etc........putting a diff. bumper is fine, rims, fine, color fine, whatever, just dont go and take the WHOLE front end from another car (a bmw persay) and slap it on, that doesnt take any skill at all!.........

i think to test a person's skill they should take little part's, alot of LITTLe part's and put them together seamlessly.........like a bumper, skirt's, rims, and try to maintain original color........


one contest iw ould like to have, is this

EVERYONE will get the SAME part's and the same PICTURE, whomever chops it the best wins............

i.e.

you got the s2k car
got a bumper
a set of rims
and side skirt's

what you do is maintain original color, and put the part's on as best as you can.............this is the one of the best way's, i feel, to test our skills out, if anyone understand's! hehe

I support mentel's suggestion of making rules for the contest so that you can't do conversion mods... there really should be a limit to what you can change... cause some guys right now are basically taking pictures of other cards(e.g., beemers, skylines, bentley....not trying to pick on a certain person...) and just sticking them on to a car. A few skews, rotates, and then color change, and they got seemingly the best looking car. While others who preserve the basic frame of the car, but instead adding bodykits, spoilers, seemingly have a less attractive car when really they have put more work on it. There is no way we can change the rules of this contest now since everyone has already basically made their car... and yes that is including me, I admit I stole the front of an RSX/ITR and stuck it on mine chop... ( http://www.geocities.com/beefcakesp_2001/rsx2000.html )... but next time, whoever may host the contest, should list rules...

I also have a suggestion and that is to use the worst-looking cars(e.g., Aztec, Echo- again not TRYING to offend any person here who owns one)as the base models and work with that. Whoever can make it look "decent" or better wins. And this is not simplying taking away the whole front and sticking on a new one from another car, instead, only lowering, color change, bodykits/skirts, spoilers, etc. as mentel suggested.

Final :D ... i decided that i won't do a complete conversion on this one , only a big fat one with most parts stock (actually only wheels are not from this picture)... i don't have time to do a complete conv. too :( ... maybe in the next contest :flash:

Guys, i really don't want to have to close this thread and take away your right to do contests if everyone is going to flame because they used the same paint as you did or even the same wheels. If they do use the same "idea" as you, good for them, you have something in common. basically all rice is going to look the same so they're not copying you. just leave the flaming for stress release, we can't have any of it here.

dude... who determines who has a part first then? just cause someone has the same rims as ur chop... it don't mean they copied you... u dudes just got the same taste...

just cause u posted ur chop first, and mentel came up with one later with same rims, it don't mean he copied u... not everyone can come on forum everyday and post their daily progress, mentel might have had the rims before u did too, or maybe didn't... maybe u should just keep ur mouth shut/keep ur fingers from typing cause u're getting annoying... fuking 10 year olds...
