Glowing red exhausttahawus84 08-13-2005, 12:45 AM After driving home tonight I noticed that if I look though the passenger wheelwell I could see the exhaust manifold under the heat sheild glowing red. Is this normal? I waited for it to cool off because I didnt want my car to cook. Reminds me of watching brake rotors during a road course race. yea I have been watching it alot and it only seams to get red when I am really beating on it. The engine temp is always around 210. You pretty much answered your own question..the harder you run your engine the hotter the exhaust will get and depending on how much raw fuel is left in the converter, the converter will glow. tahawus84 08-17-2005, 11:33 PM i have a 2002. During the day it gets red too but you cant really see it unless it is in the shade.
