A/C compressors for intrepflrydr 08-12-2005, 11:28 PM my compressor bearings failed on my 94 Intrepid so I would like to get a used one from the yard but, what other dodge/chryslers compressors will fit the 94 intrepid? thanks theFREAKnasty82 08-16-2005, 10:55 PM '93-97 Intrepid, Chrysler Concorde, or Chrysler LHS, depending on the engine. It varies between engines, either the 3.3 or 3.5. OrangeParkTech 08-19-2005, 11:16 AM the 3.5 and 3.3 have the same compressor. at least the 97 concorde one i got worked in my 96 intrepid fine. dahobbs 08-19-2005, 05:39 PM You CAN purchase the bearing for the compressor and rebuild it yourself. I have done many of them in the past. The compressors are so simple, its really dumb to buy a new or remanufactured compressor from an autoparts store. Most fail due to the following: Front shaft seal leaks: Replacement around $9 Leaking "O" ring: around $8 Bad Internal bearings: approx $26 Bad Clutch Bearing: approx $45 Most parts I purchse locally but there are several bearing suppliers online, also John Deere equipment also use the same compressor. Here are a few sites: http://www.polarbearinc.com/PBPC/homepage/Search/GA/Seals_GA_Metal.html !! Seals and such: http://www.apairinc.com/iVIEW.asp?CAT=Compressor%20Seal%20Kits&SCAT=Nippondenso http://www.apairinc.com/main.asp (there main page) Bearings: http://bearingsdirect.com/products/ Condensor Lookup: http://webbase.transpro.com/coolcat/ TSB's & Recalls: http://www.alldata.com/recall/make/ I hope this helps at least ONE person out there, because I have learned alot from reading the forums.
