New Chevy Enginethecackster 08-12-2005, 05:41 PM Did any one catch that on (trucks/horsepower tv) on spike. It was the Newest crate motor from chevy. If i remember right it was somthing like 620 HP at the crank.... Supposed to be bigger than The Dodge Hemi, and the Ford V8 Big Block..... Edit: I think it's the 572 Big Block Aces0vr8s 08-12-2005, 06:39 PM you sure it wasnt a 502? Aces0vr8s 08-12-2005, 06:39 PM 620 horses you could pull that from a 427 easy ctesla 08-12-2005, 06:51 PM might have been the 427" for the '06 Z06. didn't see it, but I'm checking the satellite to see if it's gonna re-air. thecackster 08-12-2005, 07:00 PM No they were putting it in some old truck. also said that is was brand new that they were the first to get it. bla bla bla. Here is the SITE (http://www.sallee-chevrolet.com/ChevyBigBlockV8s/572.html) I found a few min ago. Pretty impressive. kahjdh 08-12-2005, 07:36 PM The 572ci is what he put in the copperhead project and it is the biggest crate that you can get from gm. kahjdh 08-12-2005, 07:41 PM thecackster 08-12-2005, 07:43 PM Yea the copper head project. Thats the ONE! Stewartbc 08-28-2005, 08:28 PM yeah u could get the same horsepower out of alot of motors, but this is a crate motor. meaning it has a big fat warranty and it can be used as a daily driver. not something that is on the verge of detonation. sure would look nice sitting in my 65 chevy shortbed.... Mines69Olds 09-03-2005, 12:01 PM Didn't Stacy David do something like a 300ft burnout with posi trac in that truck? He was just having a good ole day in that thing. I think it ran the 1/4 mile in the 13's. Then he was like now imagine if I had a nice pair of slicks and I used the NOS. nastyNater 09-03-2005, 02:51 PM yeah the 572 has a couple of options too....i think there is the 620 horse then theres a wilder one....700+ i belive. i doubt thats pump gas though Mines69Olds 09-03-2005, 10:56 PM But seriously a 300 ft posi trac burnout... That thing is one crazy automobile and it's awsome that he actually drives it. jveik 09-03-2005, 11:54 PM yeah i was gonna say... i thought the 572 was rated at 720 horses and 650ish pound feet of torque. i wish i could drop 12 grand in one of them for my restoration project. but i was cheap and got tiawan made engine mounts lol it would snap those thin little craps like a twig vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
