I have been reading the posts on the board regarding the power vent windows. Most people address the motors as the problem. I am wondering though, is it possible that the switches are bad and not the motors? My 95 voyager vent windows struggle, stop and do not open. However, there is no problem closing them whatsoever. Before I take the overhead console apart, what is you guys' thoughts on the switches vs motor thought?

My opinion is a switch is on or off. If the window is struggling to open, it's probably mechanically binding somewhere. It wouldn't "struggle if switch was problem, it just wouldn't work. If it was a motor problem, you'd see the same problem while closing.

actually a switch can become corroded or have a loose connection and become resistive, but that is not all that common in my experience in electronics repair.

I think there is a common design flaw the the vent window motors. When they age, they get weaker and generate heat, which in turn causes the breaker to trip.

If you notice, after a few seconds, when you try the switch, the window will move a little, then trip again.

This is caused by the breaker tripping-caused by the motor getting hot.
