Hi everybody!
As soon as this kit arrived into my local hobby store, I brought it before it even touched the shelf. Of course I had to have the PE kit as it looks great and this will be my first kit with PE parts, so there are some new things for me to learn.
my first challenge was to remove the runners off the nose cone, what a mission! Thank god I have got jewlers files as this was quite tricky to remove.

Of course this car is not going to be completely box stock, that's just not me. So......there goes the rear wing in the parts box.

My plans for this machine is gloss black with the wheels pure white. So I primed the rims white

Then I gave them massive brakes a go, adding the wicked PE disks and floating rings.

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to black wash PE parts? do they need metal priming?

After I gave the body a prime, I noticed the spoiler holes I filled had sunk, dammit!

I've been building a lot of Fujimi kits lately so it was nice to have Tamiya window masks.

Hey bro, which PE part do u purchase, Tamiya, or AcStion? I still have three days left in Hong Kong before back to Canada....I am considering should I buy this or Gallardo. :D Please keep us updated. :P

Well... i don´t know.. but.. being a limited production i don´t think u gonna see a Ztune Gloss Black running around.. but.. it´s just my opinion!!:gives: ... anyway.. it´s a good start.. i guess you´re thinking about a wingless!!.. nice!!.. i´m about to do a R34 wingless too.. about the rims color.. gloss black on the body.. what about a gold??

i´ll follow this.. i´ve already bought it too.. but.. i wont build this... not right now!!

Tire Giant: I got the Tamiya PE kit, at the time that was the only one I knew about, I would like to see the other one. Does it have the Nismo stencil for the intercooler? That's what sold me.

Crisjr: Yeah I know there were only 20 made, but if I was loaded to the eyeballs with money, I would do this to it.

Looking good! The pe kit was what sold me the kit. Not sure when I will build mine, but what a nice kit.

Update time.
Been sick with an ear infection so what else could I do at home. (I a'int watchin' Dr Phil!)
So the first thing i did was detail the dash, including the PE pedals. Pity you won't see them when the car is put together.

sportracer02: I use scale motorsport PE harness kits, they come with seatbelt material.

I couldn't help myself, I had to see how those rims looked. I can't wait to get this painted, but this will be my first car that I will be painting with an airbrush, so I need to go to a car painter to get some laquer paint.

nice progress...i have some questions. how are you airbrushing the exhaust to make it look that way...i've been trying to figure it out for a little bit now. also, how did you black wash the PE parts?

thewhiteguyone: Firstly I painted it chrome silver and then using a fine nozzle I freehand the joins and dump pipes. To get the feathered look I held the pipe upright and sprayed from side to side.

As for the PE parts, I did'nt weather the brake disks. But the pedals I just used semi gloss black and wiped the excess off with a cotton bud.

Heya guys, finally got a chance to paint the car.
Now this is the first car I have painted with my airbrush. I used PPG Deep Black.
I'm a little dissapointed as there is quite a bit of orange peel, but I did'nt wanna get paint runs. Also it has showed up the putty marks that were not visible on the primer where I filled the spoiler holes.

Now for a question. Should I sand it with 2000 grit to get rid of the orange peel? Or do I just compound the crap out of it?

Wet sand with 1500 grit then work your way up to 2000 grit.

Being a newbie to mixing my own colours, I'm guessing too hot means to much thinners?

Well I have basically got no fingers left as I have been sanding and polishing for hours.
First of all, I sanded the car back with 1000 grit to get rid of the bad orange peel, then I used 2000 grit, gave it another coat of black. Rubbed it down again with 2K grit and then polished it with Mr Hobby super fine compound, quite pleased with the result.
It just needs a clear coat now. If I still have an arm.

Im not a big fan of asian cars...more of a muscle car guy, but wow great lookin car. Progress looks good. and the paint looks nice as well. Keep up the good work.

I finally got some time to re-sand and compound this car.
Although it looks like I took the clear off the roof and boot. So I might have to do some touch up's with some clear tomorrow.

nice nice nice.....i saw a stock skyline R34 today, the only thing modified was a blitz nur spec exhaust(from what i could see though....) it sucked as i didnt had my digi cam with me as i just came out of school:(
