R32 GT-R street drifterglacier985 08-11-2005, 02:05 PM Well I've had this kit sitting around for a while and finally decided to start on it since its way to hot outside to work on my 1:1. I've got a little modifications planned for this kit and I hope to finish it up within the month. I'm turning it into a JDM drifter, but its not going to be a true GT-R. I'm going to modify the RB26 to be an RB25 so the car with be RWD, more sutible to be a drift car. I've got a paint job in store for it that and wheels ready to go on, no pics yet, but I think you guys might like it. Well anyway on with what I have do so far. Just an Overall Shot http://www.poopface.net/models/nissan/r32_2/images/skyline_01.jpg Front Grill Mod http://www.poopface.net/models/nissan/r32_2/images/skyline_02.jpg TIEN Suspension or atleast I tried to make it looklike the real thing http://www.poopface.net/models/nissan/r32_2/images/skyline_03.jpg Gas tank I added since the Model started as a race car http://www.poopface.net/models/nissan/r32_2/images/skyline_04.jpg freakmech 08-11-2005, 02:09 PM nice work so far. i like the Tein's! keep it up. g00eY 08-11-2005, 05:09 PM i don't see any pictures, but i sure would like to. Hiroboy 08-11-2005, 05:51 PM http://www.spc.org.uk/i/jae2005/jae-2005-015.jpg http://www.spc.org.uk/i/jae2005/jae-2005-016.jpg How about this for inspiration, R32 GTS Drift Car :) Nice work so far on the Tein setup glacier985 08-11-2005, 06:29 PM sorry about the pictures it seems my host is having issues. Anyway I hope they fix it soon for now heres some pictures of waht I did today on another host that hopefully works. rb26 to rb25 valve cover is almost done and front axles are gone, still finishing up the details, but I hope to be done tomorrow sometime. http://glacier985.homestead.com/files/rb25.jpg this is my first scratchbuilt turbo and it looks a little big for the motor so I might end up making another or just buying a resin one. http://glacier985.homestead.com/files/turbo.jpg in true drifter style I present you, my back wheels complete with slicks that will simulate treadless tires do to drifting, lol. These are the back wheels and I''m still deciding between other wheels for the front, or the other two of these I have painted a different color. http://glacier985.homestead.com/files/wheels.jpg Jeep_Rubicon 08-11-2005, 06:39 PM Looking great so far, nice work. honda_racing101 08-11-2005, 07:55 PM Looks awesome! I love the Teins! stefaan 08-11-2005, 11:56 PM This a skyline R32 GTS-T i modeled... Could be nice for ideas or so. http://users.pandora.be/deleustefaan/Gtaforums/HMMR32.jpg Anyhoo, nice progress on your skyline. Keep up the great work. Stickz 08-12-2005, 01:55 AM Lookn Good! V1nce 08-12-2005, 02:09 AM http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v482/v1nce/Rotorstock_2005/PICT0152.jpg I like this. Simple but effective. glacier985 08-12-2005, 12:18 PM This a skyline R32 GTS-T i modeled... Could be nice for ideas or so. http://users.pandora.be/deleustefaan/Gtaforums/HMMR32.jpg Anyhoo, nice progress on your skyline. Keep up the great work. Hahaha, that model has the exact paint job I will be doing except I'm going to have a completely stock body without a wing. I've always loved a wingless r32. thanks for the compliments, C & C is always welcome g00eY 08-12-2005, 01:44 PM looking good! i can see the pics now  . eph2 08-12-2005, 02:37 PM Nice Details!!! glacier985 08-14-2005, 04:07 PM Motor almost finished, I didnt want to make the stcok rb25 manifold so I moded the rb26 one to be an aftermarket rb25 manifold. I also made a new turbo and need to finish the exhaust manifold. http://www.poopface.net/models/nissan/r32_2/images/rb25det.jpg honda_racing101 08-14-2005, 09:14 PM Your going to repaint the valve cover and turbo right? Also the exhaust mani is gonna be painted too right? Oh, also on the turbo you've got the pipe on the wrong part. glacier985 08-14-2005, 09:44 PM yea everything will get a repaint and the pipe just looks like its wrong, because I have to trim it and put a filter on it. The smaller pipe with the 90 bend is going to the intercooler. fujimituner235 08-15-2005, 01:50 AM looking pretty good. glacier985 08-16-2005, 11:41 PM A little update, what do you guys think of the wheels? http://www.poopface.net/models/nissan/r32_2/images/body01.jpg And here is the unfinished turbo, mainfold, downpipe and wastegate. Which I might move teh exhaust pipe of the wastegate to make it a more realistic flow. http://www.poopface.net/models/nissan/r32_2/images/mani01.jpg honda_racing101 08-17-2005, 01:16 PM Looks good. Whatever you do tho, dont make the exhaust side of the turbine that shit brown color. It's not realistic at all. g00eY 08-17-2005, 01:58 PM i can never see these pictures. i only saw the second post of pictures. glacier985 08-17-2005, 05:21 PM Looks good. Whatever you do tho, dont make the exhaust side of the turbine that shit brown color. It's not realistic at all. I'm not going to use that color, believe me, its as ugly as it looks. But I do want to try and make it the burnt-rusty color that my exhaust side of my real turbo going on my car is. i can never see these pictures. i only saw the second post of pictures. Do you have some sort of ip blocker? because the second set is at a different host. Because if I run one I have to get rid of the ip address my host uses, because for some reason its blocked. Its something stupid too, I can't recall want it is though. Dr.Gigglez 08-17-2005, 08:34 PM how do you make that turbo?...do u just heat up then wrap the plastic from the tree? glacier985 08-24-2005, 06:11 PM I made the turbo by wrapping solder around a piece of sprue and then cutting an exhaust side and a turbine side. Then I glued on to a sprue. Pretty easy, and doens't take long at all. Update I started on the intercooler piping http://www.poopface.net/models/nissan/r32_2/images/piping01.jpg http://www.poopface.net/models/nissan/r32_2/images/piping02.jpg Added a bar to the rollcage and detailed the steering wheel and dash to the best of my ability. http://www.poopface.net/models/nissan/r32_2/images/misparts01.jpg Dr.Gigglez 09-06-2005, 02:15 AM Can you send me some engine shots Ihave this kit and i wanna make a turbo...so can i see some engine pix and how you made the turbo work for the engine? glacier985 09-12-2005, 10:21 AM Yea I can try and get some pictures for you tomorrow. The model is currently in the box since I went on vacation last week, but I'll get it out an take some for ya. glacier985 12-08-2005, 09:42 PM okay, after many months of not working on this on. I have set a goal to get it finished before christmas. I finished the seat today and got a lot of other parts sanded and ready for paint. http://www.poopface.net/models/nissan/r32_2/images/seat.jpg ANd was wondering if anyone knew what these two pieces are. Left one goes in the interior on the passengers side. Right one goes where the brake booster should, but one is not included. http://www.poopface.net/models/nissan/r32_2/images/whatthis.jpg glacier985 12-09-2005, 04:17 PM Update, cage is in the final stages, heres a preview of the interior. http://www.poopface.net/models/nissan/r32_2/images/cage1.jpg http://www.poopface.net/models/nissan/r32_2/images/cage2.jpg http://www.poopface.net/models/nissan/r32_2/images/cage3.jpg you guys think the battery is a little to big? Vladamor 12-09-2005, 07:19 PM I think the battery is in a perfect size, don't worry about it. Maybe you should sand better that seat... GREETINGS Feint Motion 12-09-2005, 07:47 PM Did you brush the seat? glacier985 12-09-2005, 07:58 PM yea, I'm limited to that until I by an airbrush. I already have a compressor that I use for air tools and such, but for now I gotta brush just about everything. Up close the seat doesn't look too good, but about 5 inches away you can't tell much. Vladamor 12-09-2005, 08:26 PM Ha ha, it's ok. Don't worry, it be next time... Why you wanna put those rims in the rear? glacier985 12-10-2005, 12:38 AM the reason for the different wheels on the back is because I'm going for a street drifter look. A lot of amatuer drifters have an extra set of wheels that they use to drift. I'm trying to get this look by having the back wheels a different style. 7th_skyline 12-10-2005, 01:11 AM Well, its certainly different! Interesting build. On a small point of fact...Did you know that all you have to do to make a real R32 GT-R rear wheel drive is remove the attesa awd fuse? You could remove the front driveshafts if it were to be a permanent thing of course. But you don't need to convert to an RB25 or anything that drastic. Legionofone 12-10-2005, 03:24 AM why would u make a skyline 2wd? AWD is sooo awsome specaly with the system a skyline has... it gives u the best of all worlds :) 7th_skyline 12-10-2005, 04:15 AM why would u make a skyline 2wd? Plenty of reasons... Dyno testing on a 2wd dyno, burnouts, drifting... Vladamor 12-10-2005, 05:03 AM Because it's for drifting, not for racing. If you wanna reach the level wich the car is going to looks to be owned by an amteur, that's the way man! glacier985 12-10-2005, 12:35 PM Well, its certainly different! No I actually didn't know that. I thought you had to remove the driveshafts completely. I actually wanted the rb25 instead of the rb26, to be different. Lets just say the owner of the skyline bought a gt-s with the rb25 and did a GT-R conversion :lol2: thanks for the comments, I expect the interior to be 90% done tonight. glacier985 12-14-2005, 09:11 PM okay, so the interior didnt happen, but I started on a strut bar and got the battery finished. I used the photoetch battery kit from Detail Master on the battery and have the ground cable done, but no picture. http://www.poopface.net/models/nissan/r32_2/images/strut_bar.jpg http://www.poopface.net/models/nissan/r32_2/images/battery.jpg vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
