Anyone know if the 2005 Silverado rear bumper will fit on a 2002 Silverado?

They are not the same. Brackets changed in I believe 04. Dont know why though.

I do not know why Chevy does that. The 88-98 trucks look to have the same bumpers but the 88-93 and 94-98 bumpers are not interchangable. The only real difference between the bumpers is the brackets.

I dont think it would just fit. You can modify anything, but safely I dont know. I am pretty sure GM in their infinite wisdom changed both. They decided they wanted to spend more money to fabricate a whole new part
