I have a 2000 (w) 1.8 Passat se saloon
62k miles

recently the car at random wont unlock with ether remote key and it sets off the alarm, when the car eventually opens and alarm stops sounding (takes a lot of presses from the remote to stop it, if it stops at all!) the interior lights wont come on with ether opening the doors , removing the key from ignition or using the swiches on the roof.

I have tested the batteries in the remotes, they all read 3.02v and checked the car battery

I have left the car battery disconnected for 10min and after that the car functions correctly for a day or so then starts playing up.

Please help as I am at my wits end

Did it ever occur to you that nobody knew the answer to your problem???

sounds like either a bad confort module or the wires leading up to it.

Or just a bad remote..
