I picked up the new C6 kit a couple days ago and decided i just needed to do something a bit different...
Before:

Start of the front bumper:

To start the flares i lined the wheel wells with sheet styrene and than added quarter round to make the flares:

Pulled out the sheet styrene to finish up the gluing:

Should have more progress tonight when the flares are tied into the bumper and side skirts.

Interesting. You should really consider opening up the grill, it really helps this one out--esp with all the other work you're putting into it!

Thanks for the comments everyone! 99civichic-You're right it, looks a lot better with the grill opened thanks for the idea. I continued the work the front bumper today, the lip that was added will be cut down so that it tapers off as it reaches the center. I should have somemore progress tonight.

Wow! I really liek the way you've done the fender flares. I just can't picture doing it myself. How do you go from the first step where you've formed the fender flares from sheet styrene... to the last picture where it looks like a perfectly molded flare??!!!
Looks fantastic...great technique.

Thanks man, to make the flares I glued sheet styrene to the inside of the wheel well so that the quarter round strips could be formed around them and glued to the body. Basically the sheet just acts as a guide and when the glue for the flares dries you can just pull out the sheets and sand down whatever was left of them. Today the front bumper was cut down and I puttied it.

-the putty is still drying so it looks a little funny.
I also am having trouble deciding wether or not I should add some side skirts, so far I only put a little piece of styrene on there

Of course you should add side skirts, this car is asking for it.
You have done a great job with the fender flares and now make some nice side skirts. Go for it.
