Shoot, a 100k Silvy runs better than a brand new Furd!

hmmm... let's see driving 100k in a Silverado is the same distance if you drove 100k in another vehicle. Mileage is mileage... troll

Have we beat the dead horse yet??? Have we bought a truck yet? Go buy it and then you can trash it and hate it, owning it will make that easier. Love mine and would not give it up, except for a paid off 2wd VHO 6.0, maybe....

I own a used car lot and appraise a few thousand vehicles a week. I see a lot of high mileage trucks and cars.

as far as a 350 V8 goes versus the comparable Ford, I will tell you this. I see chevys with 300,000 miles. I see Fords with 300,000 miles.

The main difference is the person driving it and how they maintain it.

HOWEVER

Resale value is like night and day.

For example. If i had to go to an auction right now and buy a 98 ford xlt 3rd door loaded today, I could pretty easily do it for around 4500-6000 and have several to choose from.

If I had to go buy a 98 Silverado loaded with a 3rd door, immediatly at auction, there is no way in hell im going to see a clean one for under 6k. More likely 6-7k.

Resale is the key and I dont care what the "book value " says. I run a Chevy in the paper it sells first week. I run a Ford and it takes 3 times as long in general.
