Just curious of those that have installed a supercharger (magnacharger) or STS turbo if you encountered any transmission problems handling the extra 100+ hp and torque. I wonder if eventually the auto tranny would start to develop problems.

It would probably last alittle while with a nice size cooler install, shift kit, and vette servos. Any of the last two to help it shift into gear more firmly and with less sliding into gear. I had to upgrade all of the internals after my motor build, because I knew I was going to put down some big numbers. I also knew at the time that nitrous was in the near future. Now I'm glad I got it built, because its time to up the pills from the 100 shot to the 150 shot. :naughty:

The 4L60-E is rated for 360 HP as I recall. Don't know if that means out of the engine without any accessories (alternator, a/c comp. etc, that being the number manufacturer's advertise) or if that means at the flywheel after hp loss from all that stuff.

Bottom line: If you put a supercharger/turbocharger on and run it hard often, yes, your transmission will wear out faster, but I am no one to say if it will be 5000 miles sooner or 50000 miles sooner! The items slowprocess mentioned will help.
