1996 Blazer Dash lightbulb goes on and off...

I'm going to be replacing a broken plastic dash pretty soon, and while I'm doing that, I was wondering how to either replace a lightbulb or tighten it.
The stupid light bulb behind the voltage guage doesn't come on when I turn on my lights... every once in a blue moon, the light comes on and works just fine.
How exactly would I go about replacing the light bulb or tightening it?

Well looks like I wont be doing that then...
My knee kick panel wont come off because whoever owned the blazer before I did had some service work done to it and someone completely stripped the hex screw...
damnit.
Well I'll try and see what I can do, thanks for the post!

Use a small cutting wheel on a Dremel tool to cut a slot in the head of the broken/stripped screw. Then use a blade screwdriver to turn it. ;)

Don't have a dremel so I'll have to find something else...
but is it absolutely necessary to take off the panel in order to remove the dash so I can replace the light?
If I'm taking off the dash bezel do I need to take off the kick panel?
