I drive the car 20-30 miles stop the car say, to get gas. Car is off for aprox. 5 to 10 minutes. Car will not start. You can hear it start to turn but then nothing. I let the car set for aprox 10 to 15 min trying every so often to start and eventually it will. If I drive for another few miles stop the car I may have to repeat the same thing over. It does this with no warning maybe for several stops thru out the day (especially if I am only away from the car for 5 minutes or so). Then it may go for 2 or 3 weeks with no incidents. I took it to the shop after 2 of these incidents in one day but the dealer could not get the problem to replicate. Does anyone have any ideas???

does your check engine light come on when it does? Go to a place like Autozone and have them scan your computer for codes that are in memory. It sounds like you have either a bad crank sensor or the wiring to the crank sensor is shorting out. Next option would probably be a weak fuel pump.

The check engine light came on only one time and it was just before one of the episodes. The light went out on its own. I did bring the car to Autozone, the computer said fuel sensor, fuel pump or low coolent. Checked fluid, OK. This is when I brought it to the dealership. They said the fuel pump was ok and the sensor looked ok. The check engine light only came on the one time out of about 6. Have not checked the crank sensor. Thanks. We'll see if that is it.
