What are the main differences between the two, performance and handling wise? Better internals pepsihatman 08-07-2005, 12:45 PM Night and Day between the two. Type R has better internals can rev higher, has 195 hp whereas the gsr has 170. The type R weighs less, has a superior suspension, handles awesomely. It's a better version of the GSR, next model up.
