Key broke off in a 92 Metrolivid4fish 08-07-2005, 12:59 AM There has to be a way of getting the cylinder plug out. On just about every other vehicle you find the release hole push a paper clip in and bingo out comes the cylinder. What the heck is up with Geo? Ive poked everyhole, turned ignition to every position possible and no way that plug is coming out. I even took the switch off the opposite end and tried to push the broken part out and still no luck. There has to be a way, because they sell the plugs in auto parts stores. serenity 08-07-2005, 01:19 AM You have to remove the steering wheel to get to the switch. Which means that you have to remove your neg. battery cable then disconnect the wiring to the air bag which I believe you will see a compartment behind the steering wheel to get to that connector. Once that is off there are two screws to remove on the right of the column that hold the combination switch for lights and turn signals. From there it looks like the switch is easy to remove. You must becareful with the steering wheel and donot turn the steering shaft while you remove the wheel. Good luck and be safe doing any repairs. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
