94 Dodge Intrepid not idlingHipHopDiva777 08-06-2005, 06:37 PM Recently after coming off the freeway onto a city street, my car completely died. The engine quit and the oil light came on. Panicking, I turned off the car and started it back up again. It worked fine for a minute, then shut off again. I took it to get the oil changed thinking that it might help, but I had to drive with one foot on the accelerator and one on the brake to keep it from going below 1000 RPMs. What is going on? CobraCDN 08-06-2005, 10:52 PM Could you try checking the engine codes? Turn the ignition on then off then on then off then on, watch the check engine light, it will blink codes, a number of flashes for 1st digit in code, then a longer pause, then a second set of flashes for the 2nd digit. Code 55 is the code for end of codes and this is a normal condotion of there are no codes stored. If you can check that I can look up the code for you.
